研究分野
総合防災情報研究センターには、以下の３分野を置き、それぞれが連携しながら研究活動を進めます。

研究体制
総合防災情報研究センターは、情報学環、地震研究所、生産技術研究所が共同で運営に携わっています。センター専任教員、外部資金等による特任教員の他、情報学環、地震研究所、生産技術研究所の三機関からの流動教員により構成し、外部競争的資金、共同研究、受託研究、協賛企業等からの寄付金等により運営します。
大学院学際情報学府の教育課程に総合防災情報の専門家を養成するプログラムを整備し、行政等の災害対策の実務家、災害ジャーナリスト等を育成することを視野に入れた体制整備を行います。
運営にあたっては、上記三機関の主要メンバーにより構成される総合防災情報研究センター運営委員会により重要事項の決定を行い密接な連携を図ります。
Research
CIDIR is organized into the following three fields, which work in close collaboration to advance research activities:
-Disaster information and behavioral analysis
-Integrated earthquake and volcano analysis
-Disaster mitigation engineering
Management
CIDIR is jointly operated by the Interfaculty Initiative in Information Studies, the Earthquake Research Institute, and the Institute of Industrial Science. Its faculty body consists of dedicated faculty, specially appointed faculty supported by external funding, and rotating faculty from the three partner institutes. The center is funded through competitive external grants, joint and commissioned research projects, and contributions from supporting companies.
We provide an educational program in the curriculum of the Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies to train specialists in comprehensive disaster information, including disaster management practitioners at public institutions and disaster journalists.
